Volunteer Chore Services/Catholic Community Services

Service Description: Volunteers provide chore services, housework, transportation, shopping, and yard work. There are individual volunteer assignments and also group projects for larger jobs. Program is sponsored by Catholic Community Services and DSHS.
Eligibility: Low-income adults over 60 years old and/or adults with disabilities.

Service Description: Provide support, assistance, education, and referral for vulnerable and elderly through volunteers that provide socialization, transportation, shopping, errands, occasional meal preparation, light housekeeping, minor home repair and maintenance, and yard work.
Eligibility: All ages. Serves Greater Issaquah, Sammamish Plateau, & Snoqualmie Valley area only.

Senior Companion Program

Service Description: Trained senior volunteers serve as companions to homebound older adults and individuals with disabilities who are at risk of institutionalization. Provides advocacy, ambulation, home management, personal assistance, protective supervision, transportation, companionship, and escort to appointments.
Eligibility: Older homebound adults. There is a waiting list for services in some locations.

Love In The Name of Christ

Service Description: Volunteers assist with shopping, transportation, housework, minor home repair, budget counseling, filling out forms, yard work, companionship, and appliance repair. There is some very limited cash assistance.
Eligibility:
All ages. Serves east and south King County only. 


Contact your local faith communities to see if they have respite support. Family support programs at community centers may also be helpful for respite ideas. A community college or university may also have volunteer programs that can assist.
