Highline
Community College’s ACHIEVE Program provides opportunities for
individuals with disabilities of all ages to participate in a variety
of classes and experiences in a community college setting. The program
focuses on four major areas that prepare students for employment in the
community: Career Guidance and Preparation, Independent Living,
Self-Advocacy and Essential Skill Building. No Academic Prerequisites.
Potential students are not screened out of employment or training
options due to a lack of skills. Through both formal and informal
assessment methods, information is gathered to assist in class
placement and advising. Individualized Counseling and Guidance. ACHIEVE
staff also assist students to navigate the variety of educational
services and training options within Highline Community College.
Employment Placement: ACHIEVE students are linked to appropriate job
placement services, which can include Supported Employment.
