Parent Teacher Student Association Meeting

The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Special Needs Group is made up of parents in the Lake Washington School District whose children receive special services and/or classroom support.  The group also includes many special education staff members.

The PTSA Special Needs Group meets every month of the school year except December and June.  These informative meetings provide opportunities to:

· Hear presentations relevant to the needs of special needs families and children in LWSD

· Learn about resources in the community

· Network with other parents

· Keep updated on district and PTSA issues that affect our children

Meetings are held every fourth Tuesday of the month at the LWSD Resource Center from 7-8:30 PM  (located in Redmond Town Center)

• Oct. 27th  Food and Behavior - how it can impact learning for special needs kids
• Nov. 24th  Parent/Teacher Panel- get tips/strategies for school, life success
• Jan. 26th  Nurtured Heart Consultant- learn new positive behavior supports
• Feb. 23rd  Recreational Resource Options Fair- get ready for summer programs
• March 23^rd TBA
• April 27th   Autism, Aspergers, ADHD Options Fair
• May 25^th   Family Resilience/Sibling Supports
