MAPS is a diverse group of UW undergraduates who are pursuing careers as health professionals. We exist to educate University of Washington students about the health field, to help low income and underrepresented members in the community become more aware of their health care options, and to give back to the community through various service projects.
The goals of our conference are to educate students about the different health career options and to expose those who may otherwise not have this opportunity. In order to provide students with more knowledge about the various aspects of healthcare, we will need the help of you and your organization. The firsthand experiences and knowledge your organization has are priceless assets for the students who will attend our conference. In support of our program planning, we are asking for a suggested $75 donation to help fund for conference programs, food, and advertisements. We also welcome any further donations which would provide qualified students the opportunity to attend the SNMA (Student National Medical Association) Medical Conference during March/April of 2012.
Furthermore, the MAPS Pre-Health Conference will provide a wonderful opportunity for you to meet, encourage, and recruit competitive local area students who share your passion for public service and community well-being. In addition, your support will help encourage students to pursue careers in the health sciences. Please accept this invitation as an opportunity to further strengthen our community, one student at a time.
Please let us know if you or a representative from your organization will be able to table during our “Health Booths” section at our pre-health conference (scheduled for 11:30-1:30 pm).
