This is a special year of celebrations for The Arc of King County. Established in 1936 by a group of parents who wanted a better life for their children, we are proud to reach our 80th anniversary this year.
Many of our supporters are surprised to discover how long we have been advocating for the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While many things have thankfully changed for the better in the past eight decades, one thing has been consistent since the beginning. Families and friends like you have always played a central role in the advocacy and services that we provide. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way. We would not, and could not, be celebrating this huge milestone without you!
We truly want to celebrate with you because you are the reason for our success. Please “save the date” in your calendar for a few key events that we are planning this year (more details will come later):
• January 23 – Open House and Annual Meeting
• May 14 – 80th Anniversary Legacy Gala
• September 10 – 3rd Annual 5k for Inclusion
• November 21 – 27th Annual Legislative Forum
We also want to include YOU in helping make this year of celebrations happen! Sign up for our 80th Anniversary Gala Sub Commitee and put your skills to work! We would love to have you a part of our team!
Thank you for being part of our community, and thank you for all of your work on behalf of people with I/DD for the last 80 years.
