ADVOCACY PROGRAMS

King County Family Coalition
A program that mobilizes family members in King County to participate in legislative advocacy with and for their loved ones who have I/DD.

Advocacy Program for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
A program led by people with I/DD that encourages and delivers practical support for self-advocates to participate in legislative activities, educates the community about people with I/DD and their challenges, and promotes the importance of employment for them.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Seminars and Workshops
We offer sessions about specific topics such as parenting skills or navigating DD systems.

Local Leadership Trainings
A series of formal training courses about I/DD matters that develops new advocates, and capacitates those who are already on the field, to effect change within their community.

SUPPORT

General Information and Referral
This program offers information about community and government resources available for people with I/DD and may refer to other services and supports as needed.

Multicultural Information and Referral
This program offers information, referral and practical support about community and government resources for multicultural families caring for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their native language.

Representative Payee Services
A financial management program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) receiving Social Security benefits

Parent to Parent
A program for parents by parents who have children with I/DD or with special health care needs. It provides a network of peer support and networking, information and referral services and educational workshops.

Supported Living Services
A contracted program funded by the State of Washington that provides residential support and advocacy for adults ages 18 and older who have an intellectual or developmental disability and who live in King County.
