In 1936, The Arc of King County
opened its doors because of the passionate, grassroots
efforts of parents of children with developmental
disabilities. For many of those children, life often
only offered one path - a life of isolation. One voice
grew to the count of thousands in pursuit of our mission.
Today, we are proud of the fact that most individuals with
developmental disabilities live, learn, work and play in our
communities. We wish to thank our many community
supporters who have made this possible.
