Child Advocacy Central

Info: The “Child Advocacy Central” internet project was developed by the
University of Washington Child Advocacy Clinic and the Washington State
Children’s Justice Interdisciplinary Task Force (CJITF). The latter is a
statewide organization of individuals appointed by the Secretary of the
Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to improve child welfare
practice in Washington. The Children’s Administration of DSHS funded the
development of two one-stop shop child welfare websites. “Child Advocacy
Central” educates lay people and practitioners, enabling them to advocate
effectively on behalf of the children they work with. “Foster Youth Central”
encourages adolescents in the foster care system to learn about the system
designed to help them, allowing them to be better and more forceful advocates
for themselves. This project was developed in collaboration with the Northwest
Institute for Children and Families at the University of Washington School of
Social Work.

Info: The Disabled Online Users Association (DOUA) was established
as a way to bring technology to the differently-abled by means of one-on-one

e-Buddies fulfills the mission of Best Buddies by facilitating e-mail
