Info: The Accessible Recreational Travel Program, run by the Volunteers of America Western Washington, provides affordable, quality vacations to individuals with disabilities. A.R.T. is designed to accommodate travelers with toileting and bathing independence (travelers with physical disabilities can be accommodated and assisted), and those with the ability to participate in groups of five or more. However, for those with more severe disabilities, additional staff can be accommodated for an additional cost.

Info:  Situated on 20 beautiful acres of Vaughn Bay waterfront and forests, the camp offers 6-day sessions (during the summer months) geared to the age, level of ability and needs of the campers. Ages 7 and up;  wide range of activities including horseback riding, dances, arts & crafts, and waterfront activities.  Outpost Camp (14-30 years) and Trip Camp (16+ years) also available.  Call for application; Limited amounts of campership funds are available to assist qualified individuals with financial aid.

Info:  Recreational facility in a wilderness setting (by Clear Lake in the Wenatchee National Forest) for those families who have a child who is living with a serious or terminal illness or disability. Camper groups are of all ages; however, the majority of the children served are under 10 years of age.  The camp consists of a main lodge, 12 cabins, and two bathroom facilities. Sleeping capacity is approximately 100 campers. Groups generally stay from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. All food and meal preparation is provided by highly qualified volunteers. With some prior arrangements, individual dietary needs can be met. Parents are responsible for supervision and medical care of their own children.  Camp Schedule and application form on-line or call for more information.

Info:  Therapeutic horseback riding for people with disabilities.  Four 10-week sessions throughout the year, ages 4 - adult.  Horseback riding, trail riding, drill team, vaulting; social interaction with kids of the same age. In 1993 driving classes were added to the curriculum for individuals whose limitations made it too difficult to sit astride a horse - specially built wheelchair-accessible cart was constructed and donated by local craftsmen for this purpose. Tuition on a sliding fee

Info:  Provides arts opportunities for people with disabilities.  Offers a number of programs which promote the use of the arts (dance, drama, music, literary and visual) in the education of children with disabilities from pre-school through high school.
