Info: The Archives and Library on Disability grew out of the personal
collection of Professor David Braddock who holds the Coleman-Turner Chair in
Cognitive Disability in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of
Colorado School of Medicine and serves as Executive Director of the Coleman
Institute for Cognitive Disabilities. The purpose of the library is to acquire,
catalogue, and preserve print and non-print materials on the history of
disability. The collection presently contains over 20,000 books, monographs,
journals, and non-print materials in three areas of study: (a) Mental
Disability; (b) Physical and Sensory Disability; and (c) General Disability
Studies.

Info: The Resource Center loans materials, provides reference service
on relevant topics, publishes a newsletter about information resources in cross
cultural health, and offers presentations. Materials are loaned only to
local borrowers, who must pick up materials in person. Visitors are encouraged
to browse the shelves or search the on-line catalog located on the librarian's
computer. The catalog is a more detailed version of the one on this web site,
and allows searches on title, author, subject or multiple fields. Those outside
the Seattle area who see an item of interest in the library catalog are
encouraged to contact the publisher or their local library, which may be able to

Info: The National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related
Institutions (NACHRI), together with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP),
have produced a series of one-page, state specific fact sheets about the issue
