SOAPBOX DERBY CAR RACE
JULY 19, 2008, Issaquah

This is a soapbox derby type race for physically or mentally challenged children. This event allows the participants to experience the fun of a
soapbox derby type car race. The racecars are 7 feet long, 29 inches wide and 17 inches high. Two children ride in each car. The driver is a
regular child 10 to 13 years old. The co-driver is a special child. Two cars propelled by gravity, race down the street to the finish line. Each
car has brakes so that the driver can safely stop.

The physical requirements for the special racers are:

Height - 5 foot 2 inches or shorter
Weight - not more than 110 pounds
Age - 5 years or older

Even children, who have to use wheelchairs, if they can be lifted from their wheelchair and safely ride in the cars, can participate in the
race.   This year the Issaquah Rotary race will be on July 19th.
