Coalition Advocating DisABILITY Reform in Education
Info: From the CADRE list administrator- CADRE is a non-profit
organization that was created by students to allow them to network and share
information. CADRE is interested in discussing problems and success that
you may be having in your academic endeavors both accessible and program wise.

Info: The Coalition of Special Education Parents (COSEP) is a
discussion group focused on the pre-school, elementary and secondary education
of children having special needs, and particularly those who qualify for
individualized programs and services under the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act ("the IDEA"). Membership is by application only
and is restricted to parents, guardians or relatives of children who receive
special education under the IDEA and to those who provide support as advocates
or attorneys. School employees and school attorneys, without exception, do not
qualify.

Info: National clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals
with disabilities. Support from the U.S. Department of Education enables the
clearinghouse to serve as an information exchange about educational support
services, policies, procedures, adaptations, and opportunities at American
campuses, vocational-technical schools, and other postsecondary training
entities. HEATH participates in national conferences, training sessions,
and workshops; develops training modules; publishes resource papers, fact
sheets, directories, and website information; and fosters a network of
professionals in the arena of disability issues.

The Ultimate Advocate

Info: The focus of The Ultimate Advocate is on those who have a child
with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder but EVERYONE is welcome. If you have a
question, someone here either has the answer, or can lead you to someone who
has. The Ultimate Advocate has been formed to help parents learn to navigate the
Special Education "Maze" and to learn how to effectively advocate for
their child(ren). Parents need to understand their Rights and Responsibilities
under Special Education Laws, as well as what the Educators are required by Law
to provide our children. We can help answer questions about IDEA, IEP's, Letter
Writing, Complaints and much more. We are here to share information, both
locally and globally, and most importantly, to support each other.
